Leadership Lunch & Learn Series
Simple Practices for Effective Leadership
These sessions are ideal for the busy professional or emerging leader who is looking to sharpen their skills with a smaller time commitment than our larger programs.
Our Next Facilitator? YOU!
Submit Your Proposal
Sometimes you are the traveler and sometimes you’re the guide.
In 2019, we invite you to be the guide. Submit a proposal to facilitate one of 12 lunch-and-learns that Shafer Leadership Academy will offer as part of its 2019 lineup.
During this free, 90-minute session, you’ll share expertise (professional or personal advice) to inspire others to be the best version of themselves. These casual, engaging sessions feature a range of topics and connect like-minded leaders in our community.
Who Should Submit a Proposal?
Any resident of East Central Indiana who has a topic related to leadership that they want to share with the community in a 90 minute lunch and learn format. You don’t need a specific credential or job title, just a demonstrable knowledge of your topic and the ability to facilitate for an audience.
What Topic Should I Submit?
The more specific the topic, the better. Think of a workplace, or leadership, problem you solved (or have the tools to solve), and create a lunch-n-learn that explores how you overcame the problem (in a format that inspires others to do the same).
Popular topics from 2018 include: understanding personality differences, improving project management, retaining talent, and improving daily mindfulness.
You are welcomed to submit multiple proposals and topics.
What Can I Expect?
All lunch and learns will be held at The Innovation Connector (1208 W White River Blvd). You will have access to a laptop, projector, a white board, and configurable room. We manage the recruitment, check-in process, and can print your materials.
Expect an audience of 15 – 50 participants per session.
What is the Process?
Complete the program proposal form below. Shafer Leadership Academy hosts one lunch and learn each month, so we are seeking at least 12 strong submissions. We are accepting proposals through the end of November, and we will make decisions by mid-December. Everyone who submits a proposal will be notified either way.
Why Is SLA Doing This?
We believe in the leadership potential of every indvidual. Everyone can learn to lead and that means that everyone has something to share about leadership.
We see Shafer Leadership Academy as a community of like minded learners, all of whom are on a journey of leadership. When you take the leadership journey sometimes you a traveler and sometimes you are guide.
We invite you to guide others.
