Holding a 500-hour Yoga Teacher certification from the Yoga Alliance, her yoga journey began in 2013 as a response to stress, evolving in 2016 with a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and the establishment of Nurturing Rose Yoga. In 2020, she achieved a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and in 2023, fulfilled a dream by opening Nurturing Rose Yoga Bin—a converted grain bin transformed into a unique yoga studio, a space to share the healing embrace of nature. Dr. John Anderson, an educator and mentor with over 25 years of experience, holds an EdD in Adult, Higher, and Community Education from Ball State University. As the inaugural Director of the Ryan Family Navigators Program at Ball State’s Teachers College and a faculty member in the Department of Sociology, he has received several teaching and mentoring awards. His work includes training students in advanced research methods, culminating in presentations at the National Council for Black Studies. Before higher education, Dr. Anderson directed youth and family services in San Francisco. He currently resides in Muncie, Indiana.
Mitch Isaacs has served as Executive Director of Shafer Leadership Academy since May 2015, guiding the organization in its mission to provide inclusive leadership development. With over 20 years of experience, Mitch holds a master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University and spent a decade at Ball State University, including five years as Director of the Excellence in Leadership program. Active in the Muncie, Indiana community, Mitch leads the Muncie Action Plan and has served on several boards. He is passionate about youth development and fostering leadership growth in individuals and organizations.

She sold knives in college, has a Biology degree from Indiana University (that she’s never used), and for over a decade she drove a pink Cadillac. In that role her responsibilities included: recruiting talent, training hundreds of sales professionals, speaking to the masses and coaching high performers through the challenges of leadership.
Now a globally recognized Professional Certified Coach and Author of the Know Thyself Journal, Halle helps small business owners and leaders find respite from a hustle and grind mindset to consciously curate a business and life filled with joy, peace, balance and growth.

About Our Facilitator
Halle Simpson is highly driven, a self-starter and her career path has been pretty non-traditional. She sold knives in college, has a Biology degree from Indiana University (that she’s never used), and for over a decade she drove a pink Cadillac. In that role her responsibilities included: recruiting talent, training hundreds of sales professionals, speaking to the masses and coaching high performers through the challenges of leadership.
Now a globally recognized Professional Certified Coach and Author of the Know Thyself Journal, Halle helps small business owners and leaders find respite from a hustle and grind mindset to consciously curate a business and life filled with joy, peace, balance and growth.
In her down time, she enjoys daily journaling, yoga, massages and watching cooking shows. She resides in Traverse City, Michigan with her Boston Terrier, Marco (named after Marco Andretti) and attends the Indy 500 each year.

In this two-part interactive workshop, Megan Fuciarelli will lead participants through a comprehensive exploration of belonging within the context of social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). Belonging is foundational to building inclusive and empowered teams, organizations, and communities. Over two 90-minute sessions, participants will dive into the importance of creating environments where every individual is seen, heard, welcomed, and valued as an integral part of the collective. Each participant will leave with actionable insights that will help them foster meaningful, sustainable change.
Learning Objectives
Session 1: Understanding Belonging in JEDI
1. Understand the impact of belonging on engagement, collaboration, and organizational success.
2. Explore the connections between belonging, equity, and diversity, and how these factors shape inclusive cultures.
3. Identify common barriers to belonging and understand how systems of exclusion operate.
Session 2: Driving Belonging through Action
1. Learn and apply strategies to create environments where everyone feels a true sense of belonging.
2. Discover tools to strengthen inclusive practices that honor and amplify diverse voices.
3. Engage in self-reflection to build empathy, trust, and understanding as part of a team or organization.
4. Develop a personalized plan to integrate belonging into your leadership, team management, or organizational culture.
About Our Facilitator
Megan Fuciarelli is an educator and administrator with nearly 25 years of experience in the social justice realm. Now residing in Michigan, Fuciarelli has spent the bulk of her educational career in the Chicago area. As the Founder & Chief Empowerment Officer (CEO) of US², she works with a team of like-minded individuals whose primary goal is to help Unite Society through equity and inclusion work. In her career, she has served as an educator as well as building and district-level administrator. Nichole Linebaugh balances her corporate expertise with a passion for holistic well-being as seasoned professional with 12 years’ experience in Safety, Health, and Human Resources. Holding a 500-hour Yoga Teacher certification from the Yoga Alliance, her yoga journey began in 2013 as a response to stress, evolving in 2016 with a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and the establishment of Nurturing Rose Yoga. In 2020, she achieved a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and in 2023, fulfilled a dream by opening Nurturing Rose Yoga Bin—a converted grain bin transformed into a unique yoga studio, a space to share the healing embrace of nature. Balancing her professional role with a commitment to holistic well-being, she seamlessly integrates yoga principles into her approach to managing stress. Beyond her corporate endeavors, she eagerly shares the growth and insights garnered through this dual journey, offering valuable perspectives to professionals and individuals on their paths of development. About Our Facilitator
Erika Petrelli has been in people-development for more than 25 years, currently as The Leadership Program’s Senior Vice President of Leadership Development. She worked at the helm of Leadership’s central programming for more than a decade, overseeing its largest programmatic expansion serving K-12 youth across all five boroughs of New York City, and now trains key leadership skills to professionals across the country—as a keynote speaker and featured presenter at conferences, a trainer and coach within organizations, and an adjunct professor on youth work. She is also a key writer for all of The Leadership Program’s student curriculum, works in partnership with other organizations to develop or expand their curriculum, blogs regularly on subjects of leadership and personal development, and wrote an interactive journal, On Wings & Whimsy: Finding the Extraordinary Within the Ordinary, available on Amazon.

About Our Facilitators:
Dr. John Anderson, an educator and mentor with over 25 years of experience, holds an EdD in Adult, Higher, and Community Education from Ball State University. As the inaugural Director of the Ryan Family Navigators Program at Ball State’s Teachers College and a faculty member in the Department of Sociology, he has received several teaching and mentoring awards. His work includes training students in advanced research methods, culminating in presentations at the National Council for Black Studies. Before higher education, Dr. Anderson directed youth and family services in San Francisco. He currently resides in Muncie, Indiana.
Mitch Isaacs has served as Executive Director of Shafer Leadership Academy since May 2015, guiding the organization in its mission to provide inclusive leadership development. With over 20 years of experience, Mitch holds a master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University and spent a decade at Ball State University, including five years as Director of the Excellence in Leadership program. Active in the Muncie, Indiana community, Mitch leads the Muncie Action Plan and has served on several boards. He is passionate about youth development and fostering leadership growth in individuals and organizations.
