News can be defined many ways, but it is primarily information that people need to know and would like to know. But you or your business or organization can’t ensure that your news gets to the people who need it unless you master effective communications tools including the news release, whether it is for news organizations or social media or community groups. It is vital for leaders to learn how to get their news out. “Hamilton” asked, “Who tells your story?” You can tell your story, either directly to the people who need to know it or through traditional or modern communications tools.

Learning Objectives

  1. Effective leadership means getting your word – your news – in front of the people who need it.
  2. Leaders know how to effectively get their word out.
  3. Knowing the audience for your information – news from your group, words from you personally – and knowing what they want and don’t want is essential.
  4. Knowing the vehicles that will spread your word is a must, especially knowing what they need.

This program is ideal for: Non-profits and businesses and individuals, the latter at a time when authenticity in personal branding has never been more important.
