What we are looking for:

Facilitator Expectations:
We are looking for facilitators who are passionate about a leadership development topic that they want to share with the community. You don’t need a specific credential or job title, just a demonstrable knowledge of your topic and the ability to facilitate for an audience.

The more specific the topic, the better. Think of a workplace or leadership problem you solved (or have the tools to solve) and create a session that explores how you overcame the problem (in a format that inspires others to do the same).
You are welcomed to submit multiple proposals and topics.

We seek program proposals that:

  • Provide leadership skills that help people think differently in terms of their leadership and for leading others
  • Encourage learning through inquiry: create a learning environment where participants can ask questions to enhance learning
  • Identify key objectives for the program
  • Can be facilitated in person or virtually

We seek facilitators, not presenters:
Most importantly, we are seeking facilitators who are interactive with the participants and create an experiential learning environment that enables participants to have a different conversation today or tomorrow.

Facilitation is the act of engaging participants in creating, discovering, and applying learning insights.

What Can I Expect from the Process?

In-Person Programs
In person programs will be held at The Innovation Connector (1208 W White River Blvd). You will have access to a laptop, projector, white board, and configurable room. We manage the recruitment, check-in process, and can print your materials.
Expect an audience of approximately 15 – 50 participants per session.

We follow CDC guidelines for the health and safety of all participants as we move through the pandemic and will adapt our programming format as needed. During our in-person programs, we ask that unvaccinated participants continue to wear masks unless otherwise stated at that time.

Virtual Programs
Virtual programs will be conducted over Zoom. We have staff available to serve as a digital producer for your program.
Expect an audience of approximately 30 – 75 participants per virtual session.

First Round Applications Due October 1st.
We will continue to accept and process proposals throughout the year.

Facilitators for early-2022 will be selected by the end of October. Applicants may be asked to participate in a brief interview process with Shafer Leadership. Potential compensation for facilitators will be discussed based on experience, budget, etc. All facilitators will be asked to sign a facilitator agreement in their capacity as a contractor providing a service to Shafer Leadership.

Eilis Wasserman, Virtual Program Manager for Shafer Leadership will work with all facilitators to support them through the programming process from beginning to end. For the year 2022, facilitators will have the opportunity to utilize the services of The Bold Edit if desired, a PowerPoint design company dedicated to creating bold presentations.

Questions can be directed to Eilis Wasserman at ewasserman@shaferleadership.com
