Your Preferences Make a Difference

[blockquote]

Knowing one’s preference can make a difference among family members, relative, volunteer workers and especially with a team of co-workers. One way to view preferences is by taking the Myers Briggs Personality Inventory and spend some time reviewing what ‘your 4 letters’ suggest about you. It is helpful for family members to have a sense of these preferences as they pursue various family activities. It is certainly beneficial for managers of teams to have a sense of their team member’s preferences and deploy various tasks, responsibilities and processes based on these preferences. Participants will take the Myers Briggs and bring their 4 letters to the session with an indication of the strength of their letters. Discussion will be a primary factor in this session and if it is a ‘work team’ info will be gathered prior and the various components of the team will be divided for discussion time.

Learning Objectives

[blockquote]

Do you gather info by talking, asking questions or by listening?

When seeking information do you want all 5 senses satisfied or are you quite happy with just one being satisfied?

Are your personal belonging (closets, drawers, office files/desk) orderly or do you prefer a drop it in a pile because I know where it is?

Do you seek harmony and often accommodate others to maintain harmony or does your logic kick in and you roll with a decision with little regard for harmony?
