June 9, 2015, Muncie IN – Shafer Leadership Academy is excited to announce they have partnered with the John Jay Center for Learning in Portland, Indiana to present the Jay County Leadership Program. This program will provide participants with the leadership principles and applicable skills needed to be more effective leaders in all areas of influence.
Jay County Leadership Program is an engaging four-week leadership training opportunity ideal for existing or emerging leaders looking to positively influence others. Participants will become better equipped to lead the change they want to see in the businesses, nonprofits, civic groups and communities of Jay County. They will discover the key elements of building and leading an effective team by recognizing their individual strengths along with those of others around them. Session topics include:
- Defining Effective Leadership
- Managing Conflict
- Effective communication
- Leading Change
- Principles of Servant Leadership
- Seeking Consensus
- Community Leadership
Jay County Leadership Program will begin on Thursday, September 17th and conclude on Thursday, October 8th, 2015. The program begins with a day-long session where participants learn about various learning and leadership styles including insight into their own personal style. Sessions two and three are four-hour morning sessions where the focus will be on specific leadership skills valuable in any environment. The program will conclude with a final session including a reception time with participants, sponsors, and guests.
The registration deadline for this course is Friday, August 28th, 2015. Standard tuition is $400, and a discounted price of $200 is offered to employees of nonprofit organizations with fewer than 50 employees.
